In addition to monsters and soldiers, the source of danger may be the environment itself – the creators have included in its name a few mechanics characteristic of survival games. In production, we also find struggle-the system responsible for it is no different from the standards typical of first-person shooters. Decisions also shape the environment and affect our comrades. Of great importance here are the choices that the player takes – in particular, who decide to trust. The gameplay is to collect information, solve puzzles and fight the dangers (how to avoid them, how to deal with them). Unlike many other survival horrors, Chernobyl offers a story told non-linearly and related to the free exploration of the world (but it’s not a sandbox). In darkness lurk, however, even more dangerous, supernatural things. It turns out that a mysterious substance (the same name Chernobyl) is extracted in the zone, and the territory is controlled by the army. Wanting to finally deal with the past, the protagonist returns to the scene of the tragedy, now called the Chernobyl exclusion zone.

Although it’s been 30 years since then, the man has never come to terms with the loss. The main character of Chernobyl is a physicist whose beloved disappeared without a trace during the events related to the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
